My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them. Question In verse 8 above, what's so special about the advice of parents?   Practical help It's true that some parents act like fools. You may need to ignore their foolish advice and ways. (When Scripture warns us to avoid fools, it doesn't tell us to exempt foolish parents.) But if your parents aren't fools, listen up. They -- or folks who have served in their place -- dispense loving and dependable counsel. Long after they pass from the scene, they serve as standards by which to judge other advisers you enlist. Now that you're off to a new year, commit yourself to counselors who are no less loving and dependable.
