Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Matthew 6:33*

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"

Questions

1. What might we be seeking ahead of God's kingdom and righteousness?

2. What incentive does Jesus give for us to change our ways?

Practical help

Pay attention, because this is unusual: a popular rock band with an anti-porn message.

On their latest CD, the No. 1 rock group Creed tackles the issue in their song "Beautiful." Listen in: "She's immortalized in young men's eyes / ... In your mind she's your companion / Vile instincts often candid / Your regret is all that's left."

It's not an original idea. Two thousand years ago, Jesus spoke of seeking things that leave no regret: God's kingdom and righteousness. Pursue the Father, he says, and you won't find yourself wallowing in depression after your latest moral failure.

That's a creed on which we can all stand firm.
