Pay attention, because this is unusual: a popular rock band with an
anti-porn message.
On their latest CD, the No. 1 rock group Creed tackles the issue in
their song "Beautiful." Listen in: "She's immortalized in young men's eyes
/ ... In your mind she's your companion / Vile instincts often candid / Your regret is all
that's left."
It's not an original idea. Two thousand years ago, Jesus spoke of
seeking things that leave no regret: God's kingdom and righteousness. Pursue the Father,
he says, and you won't find yourself wallowing in depression after your latest moral
failure.
That's a creed on which we can all stand firm.
