to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand
strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage:
Psalm 103:13-14
*
13. As a father has
compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion
on those who fear him;
14. for he knows how we are
formed, he remembers that we are dust.
Questions
1. When a father sees his
child doing something wrong, how do you expect him to
react?
2. What do you think verse 14
means?
3. Why is it important that God
knows how you are made?
Practical
help
Think you're
out-of-control sexually because that's how you're
made?
Consider:
1. You can
change (including gaining sexual self-control).
Jesus said:
I am the vine; you
are the branches. If a man remains in me and I
in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me
you can do nothing (John 15:55*).
2. You can't change on
your own. Just as parents recognize that their
children need them, God's knows
a. You are dust,
lacking ability to survive on your own.
b. You need Him to
survive.
c. You need His compassion
and love.
You can overcome your struggle
with pornography by trusting that God knows how you're
made and that he's willing to be your strength. If you
haven't asked him to be your strength,
