strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage: Colossians 3:1-3*
1. If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the
things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on
earth.
3. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Questions
1. What does verse 1 mean by "raised up with Christ?" What
event in Jesus life does it allude to?
2. If someone were seated at the right side of a powerful ruler,
what kind of relationship would this individual have with that ruler? What authority would
this person have over other common folks in the ruler's kingdom?
Practical help
The Christian is a person who knows Jesus personally. Right now, and
until He comes back, Jesus is not on a cross nor in a tomb. He is seated next to God the
Father and your life as a believer is hidden in Him (safely under His control).
What is in your control is what you choose to set your mind on. You can choose to give in
to Internet porn or other self-centered addictions and ignore for a time Gods call to you
to look up to Jesus -- but to do so is to forget who you really are and whose you really
are.
