fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus

1. How can someone be so bold as to claim to have
fellowship with God?
2. How is a choice to walk in sin described here,
and how is it contrasted with walking with Christ?
Practical help
Pornography is a robber. For the Christian, a
choice to view and fantasize over pornography of any kind is a choice
to walk alone. It, like other sins, robs us of fellowship and intimacy
with Jesus.
Think of this from Jesus’ perspective as He sees
what’s happening in our minds and hearts at the moment of that
decision. It must be incredibly sad for Him as he sees us turn from
Him to place our attention on smut. No one can see more clearly than
Jesus just how self-destructive that choice is for us.
On the
other hand, a choice to resist the pull of porn is a choice that
results in fellowship with Jesus. A choice for maintaining sexual
purity will take us deeper into fellowship with Him. Of course the
fact that a person can even enter into a relationship with Christ is
totally based upon the cross and His grace toward us and could never
depend upon our own merits. While that is true, our decisions to
follow or resist temptation do directly shape the quality of that
relationship. Fortunately, Jesus never turns His back on
us!
So, what will you choose today? Will you walk alone in the
dark land of Web porn, or will you walk in fellowship — in the light —
with Jesus. Take action now and begin to enjoy the perks of sexual
purity.
