stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage: Psalm 23:4*
Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy
staff, they comfort me.
Questions
1. What control do you have over death?
2. How can we rest secure, free from fear of
evil?
Practical help
There is nothing quite like death. We are entirely
helpless in its presence. We might be able to struggle against other
enemies in life — pain, suffering, disease, injury — but human
strength and courage cannot overcome death. It has the last word.
There is only one person who can walk us through death’s dark valley,
bringing us safely to the other side — our Protector and Savior, the
God of life.
Not only does He want to protect us in death, but
in life also. He wants to provide His protection for you when you are
struggling with Web porn. In fact, He longs for you to have such a
sense of safety in His care and fellowship that no fear of evil — even
the fear that you will be overcome by the temptation to use
pornography — remain in your heart.
Take a break from porn.
What you really need is a Protector. If you are a Christian, consider
the rest and security that comes from being close to your Protector —
Jesus. You are safe in His care. Go ahead and draw close to Him. He’ll
take you in. There is no fear of evil in His
presence.
