Practical help

You may have heard it said that “the important thing about a man is not where he goes when he is compelled to go, but where he goes when he is free to go where he will.” Where do you go when the choice is completely yours? In regard to choosing between God’s way and Web porn use, it’s a choice we make on a daily basis.

The writer of these verses understood the significance that God’s word played in his life for having the strength to make right choices each day. He found real muscle in the Scriptures to stand strong. For this reason he made choices to place Gods word before himself, to cleave to God’s testimonies, and to run the way of God’s commands.

It may be a struggle and the choices to resist the pull of smut may be very difficult to follow through on in the beginning. You can choose to resist the temptations to porn with God’s help. Filling your thoughts with His word will make a big difference. The writer had the expectation that God would change his life — enlarge his heart — through his word as a result.

Where will you go today? Stand strong against temptation by making the choice for clinging to the Lord and His word.
