Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help
you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage: Psalm 143:5*
I remember the days of old;
I meditate
on all Thy doings;
I muse on the work of Thy
hands.
Questions
1. What were the things the psalmist
called to mind?
2. What do you think the result of this
remembering was in the psalmist’s heart and mind?
Practical help
It can be a very encouraging thing for us
to remember back to what we have seen God do for us in the past, or to
call to mind times of special spiritual richness in our lives. These
are the times when it seems that nothing can compare to the joy we
experience through being close to the Lord. Our hearts are full to
overflowing; yet we hunger for more of Him. These are times of special
grace and blessing. Do you remember having times like this?
Today, if you are having a tough time dealing with
the pull to log on to some porn site, remember how wonder-filled it is
to be near the Lord Jesus. Fix your eyes on Him, and don’t settle for
some lesser pleasure. This is a healthy kind of looking back. Go
ahead. Take a moment to remember and be
encouraged!
