1. What does Paul mean by the word "walk" when he says that we are to be careful how we "walk"?

2. Try to picture a man walking in a wartime minefield. What will be some of the characteristics of his "carefulness"? What will the man walking through a mine field be watching out for?

3. Do you see any parallels between the care required to walk through a minefield and the challenge of leading a distinctively Christian life? What are some "mines" that might trip up a Christian as he "walks" through life?

Practical help

Paul is extremely practical. He would say that one of the greatest dangers of this age is the danger of leading an unexamined life, of being re-active rather than pro-active. That is no way to live. Rather, God calls us to lead a careful life. As we walk with the Lord, we ARE treading through a minefield. There are dangers - moral, spiritual, physical - everywhere we look. CARE is required if we would avoid these pitfalls. Internet pornography is a land mine that poses great hazard to us as we "walk" through this life. So, "be careful how you walk"! Don’t get tripped up on Internet porn. It will explode in your face. The results will be a cheapened view of people, a feeling of emptiness when you are through and a sense of distance from God. It isn’t worth it. Porn is a land mine worth avoiding!
