Many porn strugglers castigate themselves for not standing strong
against temptation, for not living up to countless promises to themselves and others to
quit smut.
Are you one such struggler?
The verse above should give you some hope. Namely, it's God's
faithfulness that's on the line — not yours — to provide an escape to the
temptation.
Your job is to look for the escape that he's provided, not to
"guilt yourself" for failing to see it — or take it. Just concentrate on
looking for the escape provided by God. Phone ringing? Someone entering your room
unexpectedly? A task you suddenly remember to do?
Should you fail to use the escape, at least take hope in the fact
that God was faithful to provide a credible exit opportunity.
Meditate on his faithfulness, which is "new every morning"
(Lamentations 3:23).
