making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
Questions
1. In the verse above, the Bible is incredibly practical, again!
From present-day management gurus, to Benjamin Franklin, backwards to the biblical book of
Proverbs, wise men have recognized that TIME is our most valuable commodity. Therefore, we
should use it effeciently and well. The apostle Paul says that we are to make the most of
our time. What are some good "efficiency" tips you have learned in your business
life? personal life? family life?
2. It is also possible, of course, to waste time. How do you (or
others you know or have observed) waste precious time?
3. The verse above links a judicious use of time with the fact that
the days in which we live are evil. What do you think these two have to do with each
other?
Practical help
A good, efficient use of time is an essential element of a
productive life. All the more important in light of the evil days in which we live. To all
who are trapped in the sticky web of pornography, Paul would issue this invitation: You
want freedom? Freedom is found when you lift up your eyes to see the incredible need
around you. There is evil in the world. People need you - your resources of strength,
courage and love. The guilt-producing practice of involvement with pornography is
paralyzing you. Invest your energies in real life MINISTRY to a needy neighbor, friend,
family member. The antidote to besetting temptation is not simply to STOP. It is to
replace it with MINISTRY. God bless you as you make the best use of your time for Christ's
sake!
