Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Ephesians 5:3*

But do not let immorality or any impurity or greed even be named among you, as is proper among saints.

Questions

1. When Paul says, above, that the three sins should not even be named when Christians gather, what do you think he means?

2. What traits do the three sins, above, have in common with each other? What do they all have in common with pornography?

Practical help

Paul is not telling Christians that they must never discuss such issues as pornography. There is a good way to talk about bad things. The point is that Christians’ lifestyles should be completely removed from such behavior. Why? Because of who and what a Christian is! A Christian is a saint. That’s right. A saint. To be a saint means that you are God’s "holy one." What business does a holy person have messing with porn?

Christian, reflect for a moment on your elevation to sainthood. It happened the instant you trusted Christ for salvation. At that moment, you were set aside by God for His own purposes. Eventually, you will carry out those purposes in Heaven. For now — on earth. Saint, embrace your destiny, and throw off your past. Holy living is where it’s at! Leave porn to the former "you." Live the way you were saved to live: porn-free!
