5. Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds
set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have
their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

Practical help
Everyone has desires, and they fall into these two categories. What
is difficult for many is to say no to the sinful nature and its desires. Many of these
desires seem to be pleasurable, like viewing web porn. Actually, these sinful desires
bring a multitude of problems to the person and their family and friends. The next verse
in this passage says that "The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled
by the Spirit is life and peace." The proper mind set is on the Spirit, so turn away
from sin and turn to God. There are many people who have made the same choice so you are
not alone.
