Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Revelation 2:4-5*

4. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love.

5. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.

Questions

1. What factor proved that the church in Ephesus had lost its first love?

2. How can you apply this principle to your struggle with Web porn?

Practical help

Ask a senior citizen about “the good old days,” and likely as not you’ll get an earful about how bad those times actually were. The Great Depression (in capital letters). War rationing. No “Wheel of Fortune.”

On the other hand, looking back over your spiritual history might help you remember truly good old days — and a solution to your current porn struggles. In Revelation, Jesus asked the Ephesian church to recall their former allegiance to him. Then he called on them to go back to the better way of life that flowed from that strong commitment.

We can do the same with Web porn. Did you once vow not to see any of it and curbed your behavior accordingly? Renew that vow today. Start doing the same things you did back then. And make the good old days the good new ones.
