Title: Prayer Practicums — Ask
Keywords: "ask” “given"
Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Today we start a series on some practical elements of prayer: Ask, Seek and Knock. Part one: Taking the initiative.

Passage: Matthew 7:7-8*

7. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

8. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Questions

1. Who do you think Jesus is talking to when he says to ask?

2. What does he say will happen?

3. Why do you think we need to ask?

Practical help

We all have struggles, some more overwhelming than others. If you struggle with Internet pornography, you know it can be particularly difficult to battle because it's so easy to conceal. Jesus knows that. He knows that you need him to win. He also knows that you're not prepared for battle unless you're ready to take action. Jesus is ready to give you power to overcome. He just wants you to be ready for battle; to take a little initiative; to ask.
