Labeled by some in the media as the hero of a corrupt corruption who bravely took her boss to task, she admitted to Congress that she too had profited from the energy trader's demise. Swap her white hat for a gray one. All of us should do the same. When we win victories on any front, including Web porn, we're tempted to see ourselves as good. This spiritual myopia only blinds us to God's empowering grace. Conversely, when we lose battles, we're likely to castigate ourselves. Guilty, we push away from God. What to do? Recognize our true state: sinful but saved. All of us live in shades of gray, a truth that should spur us to praise God in victory and seek God in defeat. So relax. We will never attain perfection. Fortunately, Jesus did that for us.
