Practical help

It’s a fact, and you can’t deny it. You may not feel like one, and you may not understand the concept, but this passage clearly states that if you have trusted Jesus for your salvation, that makes you a saint! “A saint,” you might say, “But you don’t know how much I struggle. You don’t know how dirty I feel.” I know it may seem strange, and it may seem to go against all that you experience. The truth remains; because you are now in Christ you are now a saint — a holy one! Go ahead and get used to the idea. Put your name in the blank: “I am Saint _______.” Just think about how it might change your life if you could begin to see yourself as God sees you.

As believers in Jesus Christ we have received more from the Father than we can possibly grasp. Verse three tells us that we have been given every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. The whole thing! Why does God give so generously to us? Why does He change our identity to Saint _______? It’s all for the sake of relationship. He chose us and cleansed us and made us His own so that we could stand before Him blameless and holy in open and clear relationship.

Okay, Saint _______, today you are struggling with porn. I encourage you to get a grip on reality. Don’t give in to the lies and temptations today. Turn to Jesus, and walk with Him in the reality of your true identity.
