Practical help

Being a Christian is all about being in relationship with Jesus Christ. To abide in Christ means to stand close to Him and to take on His values and agenda. When our heart is in tune with His, He is free to work through us and live His life through our life. When we stand close to Jesus, what we ask is in harmony with His will, and he naturally takes action.

We are all aware of the destructive effect of porn on this aspect of our spiritual life. When a person is absorbed in looking, lusting, fantasizing while masturbating and dealing with the guilt feelings from his sin, harmonious fellowship with Jesus is lost. Prayer doesn’t happen. Answers to prayer are not seen.

If this is where you are today, you need to know that God’s grace abounds for you. You can be restored to a place of tender harmonious fellowship with the Lord Jesus. You can do this with the knowledge and the hope that He will again live through you and bring answers to your prayers. Turn to Him in humility, and confess your sin and your struggle with porn. You may need to also seek out a trusted friend to help and encourage you in the process of leaving porn behind.

What will you do today?
