11. “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those
staggering toward slaughter.
12. If you say, ‘But we knew nothing about this,’ does not he who weighs the
heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person
according to what he has done?”

1. How does an addiction to pornography compare to “staggering
toward slaughter”?

Practical help
Here’s a nice twist on our I-win-you-lose world. The writer of
this proverb says that if I help someone else avoid destruction, then God will steer me
away from the same fate. By helping you win, I win.
We need not get too mystical about this relationship. It seems reasonable that our
involvement in the struggles of others will help us face our own.
So encourage a friend who battles an addiction to pornography. You’ll both come out
winners.
