Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Philippians 2:3*

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Questions

1. What is your opinion of yourself?

2. What do you think your deserve in your sex life?

Practical help

Motives can make you or break you.

Today we look at another of the not so great motives -- vain conceit. Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines conceit as an excessive opinion of one's own worth or virtue. Couple that with vanity and you've got quite a pedestal to stand on.

Your self esteem can be an overriding force in your life. If it's low you'll probably not take a chance on opportunities to get ahead. If it's high you'll probably get the chance to pick and choose just the right one.

But what if it's too high? What if it becomes vain conceit?

Can it then affect what you think you need sexually? Can it convince you that you deserve imaginary (or one sided) sex with some of the most attractive people you'll ever view?

In this passage, the Apostle Paul wants you to give some serious thought to why you're doing the things that you do.

Are you surfing to that porn site because you think you deserve to?   Think about it!
