Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: Philippians 1:6*

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Questions

1. When did you become aware of God’s working in your life?

2. What is God doing now to perfect that work in your life?

3. When will He be finished?

Practical help

Count on the fact that God is doing a good work in you that will continue throughout your lifetime. No shortcuts. No quick remedies. God’s work is good, long-term and complete.

His work on your behalf began before the foundation of the world (See Ephesians 1:4). It was completed on your behalf when Jesus died on the cross in your place — for your sins. God’s work in you began when you first believed. His work in continues each day as the Holy Spirit empowers you to walk in Christ as a new creation — growing in grace, maturing and learning to live by faith. The process will be complete when you meet Jesus face to face.

You may feel at times that you’re not making progress in your spiritual life. Remember that when God begins to do something, He finishes it! He will help you grow in grace until He has completed His work in your life. When you feel discouraged by repeated failures and struggles with sexual temptation, and when you fall back into the mire of Web porn, remember that God will never give up on you or abandon you half way through the process. That's His promise to you! When you feel powerless against the temptations and distressed by your failures, remember God’s promise and provision. Be strengthened in His grace today, and look to Him.
