Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand
strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Passage: Philippians 2:3*
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility
consider others better than yourselves.
Questions
1. What does humility mean to you?
2. Do you think of humility as a strength or a weakness?
Practical help
Motives can make you or break you.
Today we step in a different direction in our look at Philippians
2:3. The Apostle Paul shifts from nixing a couple of really bad motives to suggesting one
that looks, well, a little puzzling -- humility. After all, how could humility motivate
you to do anything?
You need to turn your thinking cap around to get a handle on this
one. It's not what humility motivates you to do, it's what it motivates you not to do!
Humility motivates you to not be so proud that you can't admit when
a pornography habit has a strangle hold on you. It motivates you to not be so arrogant
that you can't understand you need some help. It motivates you to stop looking at what's
below you and to start looking at what's above.
