Is Web smut victimless?
Pornographers would answer yes. People who read the Bible know otherwise (click here for a discussion about victimization).
Why the disagreement? Are the porn sellers lying through their teeth? Though pornographers
are dead wrong to think their trade is victimless, many probably believe they're right.
Reason: They don't understand justice. And that failure is because they don't seek the
Lord.
The same holds for viewers who rationalize porn on the premise that it's victimless.
Perhaps many would stop viewing porn if they could only see how it victimizes people. If
this shoe fits you, consider this approach: Stop trying first to understand how porn
victimizes. Instead seek first the Lord, accomplished by reading his Scriptures. Let the
Lord do the hard part -- showing you how to understand justice.
When God convicts you about justice, don't be surprised if your attitude toward porn does
an about face.
