Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its seven pillars. 2. She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table. 3. She has sent out her maids, and she calls from the highest point of the city. 4. "Let all who are simple come in here!" she says to those who lack judgment. 5. "Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. 6. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding. Question What are the "food" and "wine" mentioned in verse 5 above?   Practical help When it comes to quitting smut, make sure you have something to take its place. In other words, give yourself a choice between something and something, not something and nothing. Nothing is no match for porn. In verse 5 above, wisdom offers specially prepared food and wine as substitutes for simpleminded pursuits. What food and wine could outdraw porn? Unlike smut, which leaves you empty and disheartened as soon as you put it down or click away from it, wisdom leaves you satisfied and confident. So don't think of wisdom as simply the absence of folly — such as porn. Instead think of wisdom as the presence of freedom, power, God. Soon enough you'll experience it as well as think it. Your options are feeling powerless and pathetic — or being powerful and heroic.
