19. But Joseph said to [his brothers], "Don't be afraid. Am I
in the place of God?
20. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being
done, the saving of many lives.

Helpful hints
Joseph had an interesting perspective on betrayal, slavery and
imprisonment. To him, it added up to one thing: the long-term benefit of his people.
Couldn't we appropriate Joseph’s attitude in our struggles with pornography? Granted,
porn is a bad thing. It undermines our families and our faith. In some cases, it destroys
lives. But it does create in us one valuable good thing: the ability to help others.
Like Joseph, we can use our battles with pornography to help fellow travelers. Ask a close
friend if he or she struggles in this area. That conversation could open up opportunities
to minister that you never would have imagined.
