Questions

1. Does this verse describe your struggles against Web porn?

2. Why or why not?

Practical help

Pray that you never encounter a riptide. As survivors describe it, one moment you're walking on the beach with water sloshing around your ankles. The next, you've pulled under, drug along the ocean floor and spun out to sea.

Web porn can devastate a life in a similar fashion. At first, you start by looking at swimsuit models. Then you think about cruising more explicit sites ... and the next thing you know, you're mired in the depravity of Internet porn.

To take the riptide metaphor further, the best thing to do is to never step on the beach in the first place, to never troll for titillating images. But for everyone beyond that point — even those up to their necks in smut — the words Psalm 69:1 suggest a way out: Say, "Save me, O God." Because the second-best time to pray about a moral riptide is after you're in one.
