Why has God made you an heir, and what does that reflect about Him?   Practical help Typically, when a person dies, the estate is divided among the heirs or members of the family. This is their inheritance. As God’s chosen ones, adopted children, He has made us heirs — joint heirs with Christ — of all that is His. Our inheritance comes not just as a result of the death of Jesus on our behalf, but also because of His resurrection. Our hope is in Christ. Because He lives, we live also. The inheritance we have received in Christ is far greater than any inheritance ever received by an heir of earthly wealth. There really is no comparison between the two. The truth is that we are a bunch of rich kids who have received the abundant wealth and riches of our Father without working for them. It gives Him pleasure and glory to do so. Our problem is that we fail to comprehend the significance of what we have received. We settle for inferior things in this world like Web porn or sexual fantasy. We live in spiritual bankruptcy while we have at our disposal every spiritual blessing in Christ. Remember, God sees you as the person He has made you to be in His Son — an adopted and chosen member of His family, an heir to all that is His. Maybe your perspective of who you truly are needs some adjusting. Just imagine how it could change your life! God’s grace will transform you. Are you hungry for change? Okay, rich kid, today you are struggling with porn. I encourage you to get a grip on reality. Don’t give in to the lies and temptations today.
