Keywords:    "beef" "everything" "glory of God"

Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Passage: 1 Corinthians 10:31*

Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Questions

1. What do you think it means to do something to the glory of God?

2. How can things as mundane as eating and drinking (or Web browsing) be done to the glory of God?

Practical help

Back in the late 70's (or maybe it was the 80's) the Wendy's hamburger chain ran a commercial with an old lady exclaiming to every hamburger joint she visited -- "Where's the beef?" Of course the intent of the ad was to convince you that Wendy's hamburgers had the beef and that others didn't.

You might do well to leverage this character's up front gumption.

In context, today's passage is a challenge from the Apostle Paul to put on the attitude of Christ when you evaluate how you're going to do things. It's a wake-up call to assurance,  confidence, faith and (most significantly) selflessness. All these being gifts of the Holy Spirit which enable you to see and do things to the glory of God. (If you're not sure you have these gifts, click here.)

So, how do you "Web browse" with this attitude?

Exclaim to yourself before you click to that site -- "Where's the glory to God?" If you're not sure you'll find it there, then don't click.
