studies, however, will examine how the armor pieces are discussed elsewhere in Scripture.
All 42 studies are listed in the three-minute study index
for the dates April 1 through May 12, 1999. Feel free to study and/or download the entire

Passage: John
8:31-36*
31. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said,
"If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.
32. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
33. They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of
anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"
34. Jesus replied, " I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
35. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it
forever.
36. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Questions
1. Verse 36 says that the Son can set us free. Who is the Son?
2. Verse 32 says that the truth will set us free. Relate this back
to question number 1. What does this say about the Son and his teaching?
3. What sin in your life is enslaving you?
Practical help
Are you a prisoner of pornography? The addictive power of Web smut
can make a person a slave to its images. How do you get out of pornography's grasp over
your life? The key to your prison door is the truth found in Jesus
Christ. He is the Son who teaches truth and sets you free.
Some of the truth he teaches is:
1. You do not have to be a slave to sin.
2. You are a creation of God and so are the people whose images appear in
the pornographic sites you may have viewed. When you look upon people as God's creation,
you do not see them with eyes filled with lust.
3. Your mind does not have to be filled with thoughts of perversion or
lust. It can be filled with with thoughts that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely,
admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
Through Jesus, you can experience freedom, so turn to Him and unlock
the chains that have bound you in slavery.
