temptation.
Passage: 2 Peter 3:9*
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand
slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to
repentance.
Questions
1. Do you ever feel like you've lost your 'window of opportunity' to
trust God for help?
2. According to this verse, what does God not want?
Practical help
It can be real easy to give up on someone or something if you're
convinced you've lost your window of opportunity. That's why it's easy to feel like God's
given you all the chances you deserve to grab his outstretched hand. You've had your
chance, and now -- it's too late!
This passage is here to tell you -- it's never too late!
Maybe you've prayed and have been expecting God's deliverance from
your porn struggle; but it hasn't happened yet. Now you're sure he's given up on you.
Don't buy it! God's not slow, as we think of slowness. He doesn't
want you to be stuck in a porn struggle for the rest of your life, but he does want you to
turn back to him.
Take God off the clock (and yourself, too) and pray some more. Then
patiently prepare for his promise to be kept.
