Title: Your Life: Post-Porn ------------------------------------- Date: 4/6/2002
Keywords: "ministry"
Welcome to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

This is the final study in our six part series in the book of Galatians, "The Magna Carta of Christianity." Paul’s goal for the Christian who reads this letter is that he/she will find freedom in Christ. I hope that God has used these studies in His Word to bring YOU freedom from the grip of porn and freedom to love and serve, all to the glory of God!

As always, we at eXXit invite our readers’ feedback and suggestions. Keep standing strong!

Passage: Galatians 6:1-2*

1. Brethren, even if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, lest you too be tempted.

2. Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.

Questions

1. According to this passage, is there ever a point in a Christian’s life when the battle with sin is over?

2. What should the "spiritual" Christian be doing with those who are caught in a trespass? (see v. 1)

Practical help

How many of us have been saddened (maybe sickened?) to see a pro athlete busted for drug use, and then sent out as "punishment" to do community service by speaking to young people about the dangers of drug use?! The person who is currently giving in to a temptation is the least likely to be able to provide help to fellow-strugglers.

You may not be a pro athlete, and you may not be struggling with drug abuse. Since you have logged on to eXXit, chances are that you have a battle raging with Internet porn. It’s a big club, and we at eXXit want to see you find freedom from porn through Jesus Christ!

While you are gaining mastery over your porn habit, though, you are pretty well wrapped up in your struggle. You are looking for relief for your sexual urges through porn. If you use porn, you are soon looking for cleansing from God. For a brief time (or perhaps a longer time) you look for ways to avoid porn. Then, the urge returns and you may give in again. You may succumb time after time to this vicious cycle.

In the two verses quoted above, Paul sets before all eXXit readers a vision for life "Post-Porn." Men and women who are trapped in porn’s web aren’t much help to others battling the same problem. But after you gain victory, and have walked in that victory for some time, you will be the means God will use to provide counsel, strength, encouragement and victory to others who struggle.

Friend, there is no time to waste. Others need your victory to have victory. You are blazing a trail for them to follow. There is life AND MINISTRY Post-Porn.
