Passage: Micah 7:7-9*

7. But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

8. Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy. Though I fall I will rise; Though I dwell in darkness, the LORD is a light for me.

9. I will bear the indignation of the LORD Because I have sinned against Him, Until He pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me out to the light, And I will see His righteousness.

Questions

1. According to this passage, what hope is there for you...

...when you have fallen?

...when you dwell in darkness?

...when you watch and wait expectantly for God?

...when you acknowledge your sin and are willing to bear God's indignation?

2. Who rejoices when you fall?

Practical help

You are not a hopeless case! That's what your enemy, Satan wants you to believe. He is the force behind the porn peddlers, who lure you to the places where you fall into darkness. You may even have people in your life who would like nothing better than to see you fallen and living in darkness. But your enemies don't have the last word!

God is the friend of sinners. He is your friend. You may have borne his indignation for a time, but he promises forgiveness to all who trust in his son, Jesus Christ. He wants to lift you up when you fall; he wants to be your light when you sit in darkness. What you need to do is acknowledge that you have fallen and that you've been dwelling in darkness. He will hear you. Then believe that he will lead you into the light so that your enemies will have no cause to rejoice.

Talk to him in prayer. Open his book. Spend time with some of his other friends. Remember that he is the God of your salvation . If you don't know God in this way, click here to learn more.
