No temptation has seized
you except what is common to man. And God is faithful;
he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can
bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a
way out so that you can stand up under it.
Question
Can you remember a time
you simply couldn't resist viewing porn? What made the
smut irresistible?
Practical
help
The above verse says God
won't let you be tempted "beyond what you can bear."
How credible is this verse to you? Are there times
when porn seems too powerful to resist?
No offense, but if you answer
yes, is it because you're not trying hard enough to
stand strong?
Or because you think it's a
foregone conclusion that you'll give in, so why put up
a fight?
The above verse challenges you
to believe that you can bear up under more temptation
than you think.
So next time you're tempted to
give in to porn, say: "I can decide not to give in. I
know this because God promises that he won't let
temptation overwhelm me."
Just remember that it's not your
strength that's on the line. It's God's
promise.
