No temptation has seized
you except what is common to man. And God is faithful;
he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can
bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a
way out so that you can stand up under it.
Question
Which ways have worked for
you to resist smut; which ways have not?
Practical
help
The verse above says God
will provide a "way out" of your temptation.
Maybe he has already, and you
don't realize it. Here are some godly exit options
that may be at your disposal now:
Technological
•
Install software that blocks porn and other
undesirable content.
• Use Internet
service providers that screen out
smut.
• Delete porn
images and bookmarks from your computer
browser.
• Hit the off
switch on your computer.
Relational
• Join a
recovery group for porn strugglers.
• Enlist
Christian friends to hold you accountable for
your Web browsing.
• Ask these
friends to pray daily for your victory over
porn.
Physical
• Flee
the temptation. Run, take a walk, go for a
drive, do some laundry, work a crossword
puzzle.
• Relax. Put
your head on the desk, and take a short nap.
(Get more rest every day; temptation is harder
to resist when you're tired.)
Spiritual (last but
not least)
• Turn
to Scripture. Read, meditate, memorize,
sing.

other godly ways to escape smut. We welcome any
