Passage:
Romans 5:1-2*
1. Therefore, having been
justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ,
2. through whom also we have
obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in
which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of
God.
Questions
1. What does verse 2 mean
by "grace"?
2. What helps you stand against
temptations of pornography?
Practical
help
Yesterday, looking at
verse 1, we considered what is meant by the word
"justified" and how it applies to the struggle of
pornography. We all come to God as a mess, and He
accepts us if we ask Him sincerely to save us. But
its even better than that, because we are
introduced into His grace. This is the attitude of God
toward His children that says, "I will never let you
go."
Psalm 37:25-28 puts it this
way:
25. I have been young
and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous
forsaken or his descendants begging bread.
26. All day long he is
gracious and lends, and his descendants are a
blessing.
27. Depart from evil and do
good, so you will abide forever.
28. For the LORD loves
justice and does not forsake His godly ones; they
are preserved forever, but the descendants of the
wicked will be cut off.
Gods grace results in a
change in heart to those trust Him, and then they
become blessings to God and to others. A desire to
change and love grows in our hearts. Gods grace
enables us to stand for what is good and right even
though we have blown it in the past and may even slip
in the future. The gift of God's grace is huge. Jesus
died so you could have it.
