Passage: Psalm 119:27-30*

27. Make me understand the way of Your precepts, so I will meditate on Your wonders.

28. My soul weeps because of grief; strengthen me according to Your word.

29. Remove the false way from me, and graciously grant me Your law.

30. I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your ordinances before me.

Questions

1. Do you believe prayer makes a difference? If so, how?

2. When God does not answer your prayer the way you want, is this evidence that prayer doesn't work?

3. What, in your opinion, would be the appropriate "attitude" when entering into prayer?

Practical help

Psalm 119 is famous as the longest Psalm in the Bible. With 176 verses, it's no quick read. But that's okay because this material was intended to be chewed slowly.

Perhaps you don't "feel" like praying to God today. Look at verse 28 above. He says, "My soul weeps because of grief..." Are you unhappy today? Perhaps you are reading this study because you have once again failed in you desire to steer clear of porn. If this is the case, you are actually in a very good place to begin the process of worshiping God. Be honest and admit to Him where you are. Don't be fake while pretending everything is okay because you think hiding will keep you out of trouble.

Grasp today that you need to pray from your heart and circumstances to God. Choose the faithful way.
