Welcome
to eXXit, the web site designed to help you stand strong in the face of sexual
temptation.
Passage: Psalm 32:9*
Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
Question
1. What's the point of this passage?
2. How can we apply it to pornography?
Practical help
Human beings don't like being compared to horses, much less
cross-breed mules. Psalmist David doesn't care.
"Horses! Mules!" he calls those led by their ungodly
desires. But when porn leads us by the nose, don't we resemble these stupid animals?
Loaded down with guilt, we become human pack animals.
Yet David's remedy -- understanding -- can still free us. He tells
us to realize what helps us escape our instincts. Maybe it's daily devotional times or
accountability partners or Web filters or ... you fill in the blank. Understand what helps
you master your temptations and get unbridled today.
