If you have, reflect for a
moment on how you felt when you first realized what
Jesus' crucifixion had done for you. I can imagine
that you felt a crushing burden being lifted right off
of you. You might have thought, "Wow, every ugly,
deceitful and hateful thing I ever did just got paid
for. Wow!"
If you are struggling with a
porn habit, you might be wondering why you get those
temptations. Even more so, you might be wondering why
you give in.
There's no easy answer to those
questions, but there is a great promise to be
remembered when reading verse 24 above: Your old
nature (the one who'd rather sin than not) is still
nailed to the cross with Jesus. Your new nature (the
one who'd rather not sin) is the one who wants to
reign in your life.
From now on, start each day
remembering that the old sinful nature really can't be
running the show. You see, he's tied up at the cross!
