Passage: 2 Timothy 4:7-8*
7. I have fought the good fight, I have
finished the course, I have kept the faith;
8. in the future there is laid up for me the crown
of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and
not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Questions
This second letter Paul wrote to Timothy, his "son in the
faith", was written just before his death by beheading. He wrote it while in prison.
1. How does Paul describe life in verse 7?

Practical help
When sitting in a quiet room in front of a computer, it is sometimes
difficult to believe that we are engaged in a battle. However, it takes no more faith to
believe this fact, than it did for Paul to believe he had lived a victorious life while
sitting in a dungeon. He continued to look away from his physical circumstances and
instead chose to see in his mind’s eye, his heavenly Father placing a crown of
victory on His head.
You have the same opportunity to look away from pornographic images that imprison and rob
you of living the righteous productive life God intends for you. With the eye of faith see
yourself kneeling before the Lord and receiving your crown. How might this affect the
choices you will make today?
