Young aspiring pitchers are told that unless they concentrate on the catcher’s mitt they will not likely throw to the target. Landing a Tomcat on a carrier deck might require a little concentration also. You might agree that the stakes are a little higher in that case. How about in the case of your personal struggle with smut? Our minds will be filled with the focus of our thoughts. If you concentrate on Jesus — on knowing Him and His love for you, and abiding in His presence with you — your mind and heart will be occupied with Him. If your focus is on your porn habit or struggle, it follows that your mind will be occupied with porn. There will be no freedom for you today in that!
