Romans chapter six spells it out — you were crucified with Christ and raised with Him in new life — His life. Sin’s power has been broken. God tells us to get with the program and consider — to know with certainty — that this is true. Your flesh still wants the twisted false gratification of porn, and Satan will try to convince you that it’s hopeless — that you will never make significant progress in your struggle. He wants you to think you’re too weak to know victory. The truth is that you’re dead, but Jesus is alive in you. Timing is critical. When you are first aware of being tempted, reaffirm your knowledge of the truth — you died, and sin’s power over you has been broken. In this battle, even a few seconds of wavering or inaction can make the difference between walking in the freedom of truth and giving into the dark desires of the flesh. So take another step today.
