who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
20. you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Practical help
An odd thing happens when we watch Web porn: We exalt the temple of
our bodies over the God our temples aim to serve.
When you think about Paul's words in 1 Corinthians, this inversion
makes no sense. Web porn engages us in an activity that we're not designed to perform: Our
bodies are meant to serve God, not ourselves. As a result, viewing Web porn is a form of
modern temple worship.
Moreover, Paul urges us to remember Christ's sacrifice. We didn't
pay for these temples of ours; we didn't even buy them on credit. They belong to the one
who paid for them, lock, stock and barrel -- Jesus Christ. And if his ownership weren't
enough, he gives us his sacrificial example as a model to follow in our struggles.
When you're tempted to log onto another porn site, remember two
simple facts:
1) Jesus owns you. And
2) Jesus showed us how to deny ourselves in order to serve God.
Follow his command -- and his leadership.
