Reflections
1. Think of a time recently when someone showed you kindness.
2. Think of ways you might show kindness to people around you –
especially those who might be hard to get along with.
Practical help
Some people think that secret pornography is kind because it enables
them to not be a burden to others. "If I can relieve my sexual tensions in
private," they reason, "then I will be more relaxed around others." The
truth, however, is that viewing pornography seers the brain with strong sexual images
harming our use of imagination when we are with others. We think inappropriate thoughts
and "undress" people in our minds (this is what "lust" is). We lose
the ability to treat people as individuals.
One interesting thing about kindness, it can’t be dispensed
without a relationship with the other person. Instead of viewing pornography today, go out
and show kindness to someone else – it can radically change your life.
