Passage:
Proverbs 9:1-6*
1. Wisdom has built her
house; she has hewn out its seven pillars.
2. She has prepared her meat and
mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
3. She has sent out her maids,
and she calls from the highest point of the
city.
4. "Let all who are simple come
in here!" she says to those who lack
judgment.
5. "Come, eat my food and drink
the wine I have mixed.
6. Leave your simple ways and
you will live; walk in the way of understanding.
Question
In the passage above, who
is seeking whom?
Practical
help
Wisdom is accessible by
everyone, not just priests and philosophers.
In fact, wisdom goes out of its
way to seek all people, sending out scouts if
necessary (see verse 3 above).
If you're looking for smart ways
to avoid smut, know that the source of smart ideas,
the one true and wise God, is seeking and calling
you.
Check out the Bible's Book of
Proverbs to tune in.
But for now, the simple point is
this: God is looking for you.
This is good news if you think
you're so enmeshed in smut that God is hiding from you
and withholding his help.
Nothing could be farther from
the truth.
