Passage: Matthew 28:17-20*

17. When they [the disciples] saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some were doubtful.

18. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

19. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

20. teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Questions

1. These are the last words of the Book of Matthew. Following Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection He speaks them to His disciples. Consider the tone. Do these words sound like suggestions or commands to you?

2. As you look at your own life, where do you stand with regards to these words? Are you a disciple and are you making disciples? Do you teach men to observe Christ's words of instruction and command?

Practical help

Jesus declares that He is central to life -- which includes your life specifically. Internet pornography is worse than a distraction from fulfilling your purpose in this life; it actually promotes a life-style contrary to the one we are called to live and teach to others.

Before you can make disciples, you must first be one. To know what this requires, you need to find a godly person, ideally of your own sex and older than you are, who will teach you, walk with you and pray with you.

Remember the closing words of 1 Corinthians 13, "When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love abide these three; but the greatest of these is love (verses 11-13).

Put away porn as a childish thing. Jesus is calling you to be mature and to put your complete faith and hope in Him as you love and serve others. Have a wonderful day!
