Passage:
Matthew
23:27-28*
27. "Woe to you, teachers
of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like
whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside
but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and
everything unclean.
28. In the same way, on the
outside you appear to people as righteous but on the
inside you are full of hypocrisy and
wickedness."
Questions
1. When it comes to
pornography, how do your words and actions line
up?
2. Do Jesus scathing
comments about authenticity apply to you?
Practical
help
What does pushing
anti-porn legislation have in common with railing
against movies like "Boogie Nights" and "The People
vs. Larry Flynt"?
Answer: They can become symbolic
measures that demonstrate public but not
private obedience.
The key issue is not your
platform or your politics. Its simply this:
Whats on your monitor, in your VCR, or hidden in
your garage?
Jesus woe
tells us to stop kidding ourselves. The most important
place to practice piety is in private.
