Drinking and dancing. Watching R-rated movies and MTV. Smoking and playing cards.
Some of these behaviors have been on Christian no-no lists for more than a century. These believers hope to avoid definite sins (e.g. drunkenness, lust and the like) by banning questionable practices. In other words, they want to turn wisdom into law -- and it doesn't work.
As Matthew 11:19 says, wisdom has one value: effectiveness. What helps you avoid definite sin may not help the guy sitting on the next pew. With pornography, effectiveness may require praying for strength every day or shutting off your Internet access. Figure out what works for you and stick with it.
And don't worry if you have more or fewer no-nos than other Christians. Wisdom is proved right by her actions -- not her methods.
