Practical help
We can get into big trouble when we manage to alienate the Holy Spirit's gift of our genuine
desires for worshiping
God and replace them with a weekly "guilty conscience reset" system. Our life becomes a rut
of play and pay, play and pay, play and pay. A porn habit fits this mold really well. You
feel really bad on Sunday about where you've been surfing that week. God really does forgive
you and you really are thankful. There, reset complete. I'm off to a new week of the same
stuff.
Start taking your heart's desire seriously. It wants more than a guilt purge on Sunday
morning. It yearns to grow and glow by the power and the purity of God's love and
righteousness. Stop acting like it's a dirty car and start listening to its yearning. Before
you know it those "guilt resets" will become "purity presets" and things -- like how you
want to play -- will change.
