Passage: Psalm 63:1*
O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for
you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

2. Why or why not?
Practical help
A scene in Jack Kerouac's beatnik travelogue "On the Road" depicts two of the writer's
friends as so hopped up on Benzedrine that they no longer eat. The drug had done away
with their basic need for food.
Pornography and other worldly pleasures do the same thing to a Christian's natural desire
to glorify God. We ingest so much of it that we forget our thirst for the divine -- and
verses like Psalm 63:1 no longer strike a chord.
Even if you don't feel like it, drink deep draughts of God. The alternative is a doped-up
existence devoid of life itself -- or Himself.
