Passage: Luke 8:4-8* (Today's focus is verse 8)

4. When a large crowd was coming together, and those from the various cities were journeying to Him, He spoke by way of a parable:

5. "The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road, and it was trampled under foot and the birds of the air ate it up.

6. "Other seed fell on rocky soil, and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.

7. "Other seed fell among the thorns; and the thorns grew up with it and choked it out.

8. "Other seed fell into the good soil, and grew up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great." As He said these things, He would call out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Question

If your relationship with God was akin to the "good soil" mentioned in today's focus verse, what would your crop be?

Practical help

Good soil — enriched by the power and faithfulness of God — always produces a good crop.

It's a no brainer that the more time you spend in genuine relationship with God the less you'll have (or want to have) for porn. Some day you'll even loose a taste for any of it. But is that the foremost crop your "good soil" will produce?

Maybe not.

The really great thing about a vibrant, fertile relationship with God is that He's going to use what He did (is doing) in your life to bless and encourage others who need the very same thing. There's no way God can reward you better than to let you partner up in His next soil preparation project. Put the gloves on a dig in! It's time to get dirty!
